Senior electives are offered for one-month duration during the period August-January.  The goals and objectives of this elective is to provide the student, under the auspices of the Program Director, General Surgery Residency Program, an exposure to general surgery as it is practiced in a private community hospital and to further basic knowledge in the recognition, evaluation and management of surgical diseases.  Students interact with surgical residents at all levels as well as with private attending surgeons who are members of the teaching faculty.
