| CME Meetings |
In final year of program, residents are provided 5 Work Days for CME and $2,000 funding (subject to change based on annual budget). |

| Parental and Medical Leave |
Provided in accordance with the FMLA act. Leave from a program for greater than that specialties board requirement in any given year could cause the resident to need to extend their training. |

| Night Call |
Yes, set by residents. Variable based on program. Ask your Program Coordinator or Program Director for details. Private call rooms for each resident on call with access to shower and toilet facilities. |

| Professional Liability Insurance |
Coverage provided for all actions occurring during residency program. $200,000 per occurrence and $600,000 in aggregate. Coverage is provided as a "slot" policy. Resident is assured coverage after they graduate for all acts during their training. Moonlighting outside the institution is not covered.. (Moonlighting allowed at discretion of Program Director.) |

Resident may be referred to, or can voluntarily seek out, confidential counseling services via a provider the Hospital contracts with (Magellan Behavioral Health Services). |

Tax deferred cash reimbursement plans for dependent care and medical expenses. |
| Lab Coats |
Two lab coats furnished for the first year. Two coats furnished for each subsequent year. Laundry services are provided. |
| Meals |
Breakfast and lunch provided in doctors' dining room Monday through Friday. All other meals provided in Hospital’s cafeteria (evenings, weekends while on call.) |
| Research |
Scholarly work required by each program ranging from grand rounds presentations, to research projects, to national presentations. |
| Health-Science Library |
Library on site available with full-time librarian. Affiliation agreement with Houston Academy of Medicine – Texas Medical Center library for literature searches and any journals not available onsite. |
| Resident Housestaff Association |
Resident group represents residents on conditions of work and GME policy and procedure. |
